How Devolens Implements Floating Licensing

Devolens manages license allocation automatically by tracking active sessions instead of activated devices.

When an application starts, the SDK requests a floating license. If a license is available, the session is created and the user can continue working. Once the session ends, the license is immediately returned to the pool and becomes available for another user.

This allows organizations to share a fixed number of licenses between larger groups of users without manually assigning or reclaiming licenses.

For organizations with internet access, applications communicate directly with Devolens to acquire and release licenses.
